SUMMARY:BHS Annual Meeting & Colonel William Crawford and the American Revolution
DESCRIPTION:Historian and Colonel William Crawford re-enactor\, Mark Cory\, will speak about Colonel Crawford’s life and accomplishments during the American Revolution period. \nCrawford was a close friend of George Washington and a trusted frontier officer who played a key role in early American expansion and military efforts during the Revolutionary era. William Crawford served as a Continental Army officer and frontier leader during the American Revolution\, helping defend western settlements from British-allied Native American forces. He commanded militia expeditions in the Ohio Country\, most notably leading the ill-fated Sandusky Expedition in 1782\, a part of the “western theater” of the Revolution. The event is free to the public.

DESCRIPTION:Reception from 5:30 to 6:00 p.m. during which guests can enjoy informal fellowship\, cake and refreshments\, plus a slide show with patriotic music played by Patti Neff at the piano. \nFormal programming will begin at 6 p.m. with a few brief remarks by Society officers along with recognition of former curator Mary Ellen Lust’s Lifetime Achievement\, and introduction of our new Patron Members. The keynote presentation will then be given by Revolutionary War re-enactor\, former Colonel Crawford High School history teacher\, and Bucyrus Historical Society Board member\, Mark Cory\, portraying Colonel William Crawford.
