We are a collaborative effort uniting the historical and cultural organizations throughout the county, all dedicated to protecting our rich heritage and making it accessible to everyone.

As the nation approaches its 250th anniversary in 2026, the CCHA is proud to lead the local celebration. In partnership with America 250 OH, we are curating a series of Crawford County America 250 events that honor our unique contributions to the state and nation's story. From exploring Ohio historical markers to celebrating the Murals Across Ohio and the Ohio Creativity Trail, join us in this historic commemoration.

Ohio Creativity Trail
Explore art & creativity across Crawford County and the state of Ohio on the Ohio Creativity Trail, an America 250-OH program.
Bucyrus Copper Kettle Works is listed on the trail for its manufacture of timpani shells that are used worldwide.
Murals Across Ohio
Discover the heart and soul of every town in Crawford County through Murals Across Ohio.
The “Lady Liberty Remembers” mural in Bucyrus, which is listed in the Murals Across Ohio Map, is featured in the state’s America 250-OH calendar.
Ohio Transportation Trail
The Ohio Transportation Trail is an experiential driving trail and digital passport program launched by America 250-Ohio to celebrate the state’s pivotal role in the history of American movement.
Hank’s Garage in Bucyrus, is listed for having the world’s largest collection of running Ford Edsel cars (located along the historic Lincoln Highway and near the historic Hopley Monument).

In 2026, the United States celebrates its 250th birthday, a historic event known as the Semiquincentennial. This nationwide commemoration is a moment to reflect on our history, and the state-level America 250-Ohio commission is dedicated to telling the stories of Ohioans who have shaped the nation’s past, present, and future.
The Crawford County Commissioners have designated the CCHA as the lead organization for America 250-Ohio programming throughout the county. As an alliance of fourteen local non-profit organizations , we are uniquely positioned to plan and coordinate a series of impactful local celebrations.
