IT’S COMING SOON! From 1 PM to 4 PM on Sunday, September 20, 2026, the Bucyrus Historical Society will sponsor a CEMETERY WALK at two Bucyrus’ cemeteries in celebration of America 250. The Union Cemetery on Tiffin Street was once called the Pioneer Cemetery and is located across the road from the Holy Trinity Cemetery. Bucyrus’ pioneer aviatrix and innovator Lauretta Schimmoler is buried at Holy Trinity where in 2014 the Bucyrus Historical Society installed a special grave memorial marker in her honor. The Union Cemetery is the burial site of Bucyrus’ co-founder, Samuel Norton, and his wife, Mary Bucklin Norton, along with other early Bucyrus settlers. Come learn more about these and other important members of the Bucyrus’ community!
